The Controller suggests processes and tools that support the company's financial welt-being. TheController is an integral team member in the development and growth of the company and providesoversight of the financial health of the company. The Controller accomplishes human resourcestrategies by determining accountabilities, communicating and enforcing values, policies andprocedures, communication programs, planning,--monitoring, appraising-and reviewing-job contributionsand planning and reviewing compensation strategies. Responsibilities include:

  • Timely preparation, review and distribution of all monthly financial reporting
  • Review of all monthly job cost reconciliations
  • Monthly analytic review of operating results to ensure accurate records are maintained and variances explained. Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions
  • Develop accounting procedures, job cost budgets and oversee monthly progress
  • Oversee cash management functions
  • Oversee the processing of all payables, receivables and payroll and all other company payouts
  • Prepare all bonding documents
  • Oversee inventory control system
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Participate in weekly meetings which include the management team
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including the preparation of all documents needed for the annual tax return(s)

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum often years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present and deliver clear and concise reports and analysis to management team
  • Experienced in QuickBooks software and/or other pertinent accounting software

Under limited supervision, the Administrative Assistant— Finance provides support to the Controller. The Administrative Assistant—Finance communicates effectively with a broad range of people of diverse ability, age, culture and backgrounds to maintain good working relationships throughout the organization, operating in a positive, pro-active, productive and team oriented manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide general office management including coordinating schedules as required
  • Provide staffing of reception desk, screening calls and taking messages as necessary
  • Perform clerical functions using excel and word processing to produce and edit memoranda, correspondence, reports, etc.
  • Execute a variety of administrative functions to support the accounting department which may include processing fiscal and budgetary documents, requisitions, orders, inventories, reimbursements, receipts, expenditures, vouchers, purchase orders, invoices, etc.
  • Assist with the collection of receivables
  • Update and maintain confidential HR files, as required

The Senior Estimator has total command of costing structure of the entire product line, including the preparation of cost analysis through recapitulation of material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the production and installation process. The Senior Estimator is a critical member of the Senior Management Team and helps establish the government and strategic direction of the organization, acts as a mentor and trains other estimators. Responsibilities include:

  • Review and incorporate data from past projects, subcontracts, productivity analysis and other documentation to enable the company to be able to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Research, obtain and maintain database of costs of labor, materials, etc. in order to ensure a proper basis for the bidding process
  • Execute more complicated bids
  • Advise, mentor and provide training and career development for other Estimators including review and evaluation of RFQs and revisions for completeness and accuracy
  • Facilitate communication between Estimators and Project Management function
  • Write specifications for customers, as needed
  • Participate in and be able to facilitate team management meetings

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • At least ten years of experience in estimating, cost control, supervisory and/or engineering experience
  • Competency in estimating techniques and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
  • Strong technical writing skills, ability to read and interpret drawings and/or construction plans
  • Proven customer management skills
  • Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner, follow up through order closure

The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical/operational leadership of the organization and is a vital team member in the development and growth of the company. The Project Engineer monitors each project to ensure work scope, schedule and budget are within defined parameters and provides coordination between engineering, finance and production, including resolution of cross functional issues which may affect production. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates between production, estimators and the organization to achieve cost, schedule and technical goals
  • Manages the execution of product design and development as required to assist the estimators in preparing bids, including electrical design, mechanical design, integration, verification and validation, test development and systems engineering
  • Aids in the development of project planning documents, capital equipment plans bid documents and contracts as required
  • Maintains project schedule, provides input to develop and report project estimation costs, changes and variances, and manage resources for such
  • Oversees the production manager and facilities and all aspects relative to efficient operations
  • Assists with necessary information needed to procure materials needed for production
  • Oversees safety program and associated conditions, violations and behaviors

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience in project management of small to large ($.25 m - $3 m) industrial projects, including design, constructions, project controls, and management of resources
  • Demonstrated leadership in design and implementation, production practices and safety
  • Well-developed communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of basic project control techniques including critical path scheduling, resource loading and cost control, including earned value
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, Sales Force and CAD
  • Familiarity and ability to execute AIA documents and contracts

The Parts and Service Coordinator is focused on providing excellent customer service and reports to the Parts Manager and the Service Manager. The Parts and Service Coordinator works with customers to schedule preventative maintenance inspections, coordinate repairs, manage the service scheduling system and assist with the inventory, procurement, shipment and invoicing of parts. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with customers to schedule OSHA inspections and other service work
  • Prepare deficiency reports from OSHA inspections which include parts and labor to correct, in conjunction with Parts and Service Managers and prepare quotes for customer
  • Familiarity with various suppliers and pricing, and ensure timely delivery of parts to customers and from suppliers
  • Assist with return merchandise program in parts department, including locating parts, processing paperwork and tracking through the system
  • Communicate with customers as needed for changes in schedule, billing concerns or satisfaction concerns and follow up calls
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers through excellent and regular communication
  • Interact with accounting as necessary to maintain proper records
  • Assist the Service Manager or Parts Manager in their absence by directing calls to the proper resource
  • Assist Parts and Service with timely invoicing and order entry, purchase orders and otherbookkeeping functions

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • High School Diploma, Associate's Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in customer service or related field

  • Ability to keep detailed records of orders placed, deliveries received and inventory movement

The Service Manager must have a professional attitude and enjoy motivating a team to work together.As a valued member of senior management team, the Service Manager will provide input into thestrategic direction of the organization as a whole and the growth of the Service Department specifically.The Service Manager will set policy and be able to oversee a wide range of duties relative to assistingcustomers with training, set up and maintenance and providing technical product support.Responsibilities include:

  • Assist customers with trouble shooting and problem solving all technical service, repair ormaintenance issues
  • Participate in senior management meetings and provide input relative to the health and growthof the organization
  • Interface with suppliers relative to parts, service and warranty issues while coordinating with parts/warranty department as needed to meet customer needs
  • Plan and coordinate activities of a team of service technicians on and off site and travel as needed to meet customer and prospective new customer demands
  • Properly staff the service and parts departments including hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all staff
  • Manage the flow of paperwork to communicate effectively with other departments throughout the organization including production, finance and engineering.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Associates degree or higher
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a field dealing directly with equipment distributors._ owners and users primarily in a product or customer support capacity
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office and shared internal drives

  • Basic mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge
  • Experience reading, understanding and working with plans, drawings and schematics

The Parts Department Manager is responsible for the overall department operations including: ordering and receiving parts from multiple suppliers, cost control, inventory control and development of the Parts Department. The Parts Department Manager must have an ability to communicate well, especially on the phone, and is responsible for providing aftermarket parts for repair and maintenance of our equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Interact with customers and suppliers to provide parts for the equipment we sell
  • Maintain supplier relationships by identifying the best source, examining products and communicating effectively.
  • Maintain parts inventory, prepare and place purchase orders, receive, inspect and store parts as required
  • Maintains product knowledge by staying up to date with bulletins, emails and other supplier information
  • Keeps inventory database up to date
  • Issues parts and fills requests, determining best supplier, cost and method of shipment
  • Coordinates warranty returns between customer and supplier, identifying part, processing paperwork, determining outcome and communicating results
  • Work with the Service Department on parts procurement for service department customers

The Marketing and Communications Director provides the planning, implementation and leadership of short and long term programs that enable the company to reach or exceed sales and marketing goals.Some of these programs include web development, presence and analysis, market research and sales follow up. The Marketing and Communications Director leads the Senior Management Group in establishing strategies for the organizational growth and development. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage marketing/promotions operation budgets
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic and — social media and direct mail
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets and competitive conditions
  • Monitor competitors' products, sales and marketing activities
  • Prepares marketing activity reports and present them to management team
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotions, promotional materials and events
  • Coordinate with clients assisting sales and estimating with maintaining relationships and sales efforts

The Distributed Products and Service Sales person will generate and build relationships, create revenue opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction for Distributed Products, Service and Parts Departments. This person is a key component in generating revenues and expanding the company's customer base. Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain, review and analyze information in order to reply to RFQ's in an accurate and timely manner
  • Generate leads for Distributed Products, Parts and Service Departments in a systematic and strategic fashion primarily focused on Chicago to South Bend regional area.
  • Provide support in the field to the Parts and Service Departments as needed
  • Manage the flow of paperwork to communicate results effectively

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Associate's Degree or experience commensurate
  • At least five years of experience in estimating, sales and/or customer service
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and be responsible for increasing customer base

The Production Manager is responsible for managing and directing all production activities. This includes coordinating the production of all products, ensuring all related equipment is in good repair and operating smoothly and manages all workers in the production process. The Production Manager is a contributing member of the Senior Management Team and participates in establishing policy and direction for the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all production activities
  • Analyze and control cost of goods
  • Set, communicate, track and meet production goals and schedules
  • Hire, train and supervise production team including identification, analysis and resolution of problems, including cross-training or workers for maximum flexibility and cost control
  • Develop production schedules and job assignments
  • Monitor product standards; implement and oversee quality control initiatives, including appropriate training and re-training activities
  • Interface with suppliers/vendors to improve quality and/or efficiency
  • Collaborate with Controller to establish a budget and spending plan, execute supply/material expenditures and analyze and adapt the production process and staffing to deliver products on time but the most cost effective way
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and work place safety regulations
  • Stay abreast of new technology that can be used in the production process

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • BS in electrical or mechanical engineering or experience commensurate
  • 5-7 years of experience in operations, including managing production operating and capital budget and maximizing performance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic understanding of CAD
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated success in a production environment including proven front line supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and experience in production scheduling, quality control and cost control

The Estimator reviews, dissects and analyzes information to create a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) and support strategic efforts on behalf of the company. This includes building relationships with potential customers to find solutions to their problems and collaborating with staff members in all departments throughout the organization. The Estimator combines personal experience and acquired competitive intelligence to develop and present accurate, detailed and competitive bids. Responsibilities include:

  • Gather details and compiles data to estimate all sales costs based on specifications and quantity take off
  • Prepare bid items to ensure estimates are developed in a competitive but profitable fashion
  • Participate in estimate reviews as necessary to ensure all data required is available and accurate
  • Consult with vendors/suppliers to guarantee best pricing on projects
  • Work persistently with prospective customers to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Apply skills to close sales and manage projects according to the set scope of work

The Mechanical Engineer has good knowledge of mechanical theories, design principle and practices and design evaluation techniques and is able to perform moderately complex design, developmental and testing duties for new products. Working in a team to accomplish goals and set direction for the organization to meet program timelines and priorities is a vital part of the function of the Mechanical Engineer. Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Provide support for estimating function including design review, methodologies, supplier qualification activities and quality system assessments
  • Researches new technology or development tools to maximize productivity and ensure quality standards
  • Review progress, evaluate changes, provide design input and make recommendations on projects as required
  • Create and maintain design history
  • Conduct testing for functionality and limits and maintains product history
  • Perform labor and materials reviews to monitor efficiency
  • Work in the field to support installations, as required

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license or certified
